Our Story
John French established his landscape design practice in 1998, driven by a passion for creating gardens that connect people with nature. After completing his Bachelor of Landscape Architecture, John chose to focus exclusively on residential garden design, believing that our private outdoor spaces deserve the same care and attention as any public landscape.
Over the past 25 years, the practice has designed hundreds of gardens across Melbourne's north-eastern suburbs. From compact courtyard gardens to sprawling rural properties, each project reflects our commitment to thoughtful, site-responsive design.
Today, John French Landscape Design continues to operate from our Eltham studio, serving clients throughout Melbourne. We remain a boutique practice by choice, preferring to take on fewer projects and give each the attention it deserves.
